It all started with our phone call to their office in mid-June 2025. Our AC was not working properly. Patty helped us from the beginning. She gave us a choice of 1) a diagnostic service visit (next day) or 2) full repair service (four weeks out). We opted for the next day, which was actually an “emergency” service trip assigned by service address location to be as efficient as possible. The Illiana office stayed in touch with us during the day and gave us about an hour's notice of the visit time (no actual appointment time). This was immediately confirmed to us via text.
The next day, their text messages started at 7:33 AM, just saying we were on the day schedule and they would give us about an hour’s notice before the technician would arrive. Another message came at 10:03 AM, and the next at 1:01 PM. At 2:58 PM, Jerry B, Illiana’s Technician, sent notice he was on his way. The notice included an introduction and the technician’s photo for identification.
Jerry got to work right away, starting with the indoor system and then the outdoor system. He took several measurements and found a few values that did not add up. He went back into the furnace and accessed it with a scope camera. He found that the refrigerant valve was not functioning. Jerry was able to quote the replacement part and labor cost right there. However, he also noted that our Heating & AC system had been installed in 2008, making it 17 years old. We asked what a replacement AC system would cost, and Jerry referred us to Dan Krysheld for this system estimate. Jerry took photos and measurements and sent them to Dan, making an appointment with him in two days.
However, later that day (early evening), we received a text from Dan asking to clarify a couple of items. We did this, and in less than an hour, we had a complete proposal, which included an A/C system change-out and a Furnace with an AC change-out. Illiana promised to schedule the change-out within two workdays. Since the existing system was 17 years old, we decided to replace it all.
The installation was scheduled for the promised time, and Adam and Sam were at our house, ready to go a little before 8:00 AM. They worked together like an organized team should. They positioned all the new equipment, with one taking the outside and the other taking the inside. They worked efficiently and made the installation look very professional. They redid piping, furnace intake and exhaust, wiring, ductwork, and monitoring. The complete cleanup was done with care and thoroughness, including sweeping the floors. They were done around 3:00 PM and then took the time to explain the system’s operation and the new components.
